TRANSMAÇOR OUT OF AZORES FERRY SERVICES

Portuguese ferry operator TRANSMAÇOR has just lost its Azores Government contract to operate de passenger ferry services in the Azores Islands following a difficult operation during the 2006 season which generated even more criticism than previous contract holder AÇOR LINE.
The 2007 season will be operated by ATLANTICOLINE, a company set up by the Azores Government to retain ownership of the two newbuilding ferries ordered to Viana do Castelo yards for delivery in 2008. More details of the forthcoming ferry season are expected later this month.
