The CNN liner TIMOR (1951-1974)


Portuguese passenger and cargo liner TIMOR built in Sunderland in 1949-1951 to the order of Companhia Nacional de Navegação, Lisbon, where the photograph was taken on 24 April 1955.
The 7.656 grt TIMOR is berthed to the CNN terminal at Santa Apolónia, Lisbon.
Purpose built for the India and Far East service from Lisbon, operated with sister INDIA. Both ships were sold to Guan Guan Shipping of Singapore: INDIA in 1971 and her sister in 1974, being renamed KIM HOCK and KIM ANN. Photograph from the collection of Cai Ronau.
