MADRID EXPRESS in Naples

Hapag-Lloyd container ship MADRID EXPRESS at the Cantieri Del Mediterraneo dry dock in Naples on 27 March 2009. The MADRID EXPRESS is one of the former Canadian Pacific ships purchased by Hapag-Lloyd when CP was taken over by the Hamburg company.
The MADRID EXPRESS was built in 1986 by China Shipbuilding Corporation at Kaohsiung, Taiwan, for the Yang Ming Line as MING PROPITIOUS (40.446 GT, 40.744 DWT) with capacity for 3.266 TEUs. In 2001 she was renamed TMM HERMOSILLO, and in 2005 CP HERMOSILLO, receiving the present name in 2006 following the Hapag-Lloyd purchase of CP.
