Purchased in 1967 from Zim Lines to replace the original HANSEATIC ex-Empress of Scotland, the SHALOM became the HANSEATIC operating in the North Atlantic but mostly cruising. I ship I was able to see and photograph many times in Lisbon under several names. In 1973 she was sold to Home Lines becaming the DORIC in order to replace another veteran damaged by fire, the HOMERIC.
