FRENCH LINERS in LISBON

While after the war France did not build passenger ships as glamorous as the Italian or British ones, the FRANCE of 1962 excepted, many interesting French passenger and cruise ships visited Lisbon over the years including the FLANDRE of the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique (she later became the CARLA C and the PALLAS ATHENA), the elegant PROVENCE of Marseilles based Societe Generale de Transports Maritimes (later she also became a member of the Costa fleet as the ENRICO C), or the BRAZZA of Charguers Reunis West Africa service, a regular mail line from Bordeaux to Pointe Noire in Congo.
