ARTANIA ex-ARTEMIS in Rotterdam

When introduced in 1984 as the ROYAL PRINCESS, this ship was the last word in cruise ship design. She was Princess Cruises first brand new ship and later she saw service under the livery of P&O Cruises as ARTEMIS.
She was delivered in April to Phoenix Reisen, Germany and after a refit she is now cruising as ARTANIA.
Photos taken at Rotterdam by Hans Hoffman on 2 June 2011.

LISBON CRUISING

Lisbon is a very warm port of call for cruise ships even in winter time, as can be stated by this photograph of ARTEMIS berthed at Rocha cruise terminal, on 24 December 2010. The weather was sunny and nice... And more and more cruise ships are calling in the off-season.

ARTEMIS in Split

While in Split on 20 September 2010 on my ATHENA cruise, the P&O cruise ship ARTEMIS ex-ROYAL PRINCESS of 1984 arrived and droped her anchor in the bay, passenger  being ferried ashore by the handsome ship's tenders...
The already 26-year old ARTEMIS has been sold to German interests and will be renamed ARTANIA as the replacement for the magnificent MAXIM GORKIY in the fleet of Phoenis Reisen...
