Pilotos de Portimão: Lancha AL-GHARB

Estivemos em Portimão a bordo do navio de cruzeiros EMPRESS e gostámos de tudo o que nos foi dado observar, a começar pelo serviço de Pilotagem.

Entre muitas outras valências, cabe aos Pilotos dos Portos o primeiro contacto com o navio de entrada, e ontem em Portimão essa interacção deixou a melhor impressão. O tempo estava primaveril a lembrar uma manhã mediterrânica, enfim a Baía de Lagos no seu melhor.

O aspecto e a condução da lancha  foram impecáveis, mal a AL-GHARB se afastou do paquete foram de imediato retiradas as defensas laranja e colocadas à popa... As bandeiras estavam limpas e içadas de forma apropriada. O PILOTO estava fardado com toda a dignidade inerente a um OFICIAL da MARINHA MERCANTE PORTUGUESA, coisa rara infelizmente.

Manobrar um navio de 48.000 GT, 2000 passageiros e cerca de 210 metros rio Arade acima e rodar o gigante numa bacia de manobra a pedir dragagem e ampliação foi bonito de

ver. Realmente não há como ir a Portimão de navio.

Ao mesmo tempo que aqui se regista o progresso portuário no Arade, ficam também as saudades dos tempos em que guiava a noite toda para fotografar a chegada do CANBERRA à Praia da Rocha.

PORTIMÃO cruise shipping

Cruise ships in Portimão waters on 22 May 2010: the Portuguese registered (Madeira registry) GRAND MISTRAL was at the Praia da Rocha anchorage while BREMEN and AMADEA shared the cruise terminal berthes. I was able to photograph the three ships at sea off Portimão.

BREMEN in Portimão

In the South coast of Portugal the port of Portimão is growing fast in what matters to cruising. The very attractive port at the  mouth of the river Arade had on 22 May 2010 a very festive day as for the first time three cruise ships called on the same day: BREMEN, AMADEA and GRAND MISTRAL.

BREMEN em Portimão

 O dia 22 de Maio de 2010 foi marcante na história recente do porto de Portimão, ao registar pela primeira vez as escalas simultâneas de três navios de cruzeiros, o primeiro dos quais foi BREMEN, que aqui vemos a entrar o rio Arade e a rodar para atracar ao cais comercial. Mais tarde chegou o AMADEA e a seguir o GRAND MISTRAL, que fundeou frente à Praia da Rocha.
