The Sovietic passenger linerFEDOR SHALYAPIN was built in 1955 at the Clydebank as the Cunarder IVERNIA, the second of four sisters delivered between 1954 and 1957. In 1962 she was renamed FRANCONIA and upgraded for cruising. Then in 1973 she was purchased by the Soviet Union with her sister CARMANIA.
On the photos the FEDOR is arriving Lisbon in the late eighties still in full Soviet dress. Later she was repainted in Ukranian colours and after a long lay up in the Black Sea sailed to Alang, India to be broken up.
