I took this photo on a bitterly cold February afternoon in 1968. It is a view from the 20th floor of the Sheraton Hotel at the foot of West 42nd Street. The Homeric was sailing at 4pm that afternoon, bound for the warm waters of the Caribbean. The year before, a friend & I did a 3-night "cruise to nowhere" on the very popular Homeric. Indeed, very exciting for ship buffs! The fare was $75 for an inside double.
