QE2 docking in Lisbon

Since QE2 first call in Lisbon in April 1969 I always tried to see and photograph her on her many visits to the river Tagus. In this photograph from about 1990, the QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 is being assisted to berth at the Alcântara passenger terminal by the tug PIONEIRO, a handsome motor tug converted from a French-built steam tug and purchased from Companhia Colonial de Navegação in the late fifties.
