Port of Lisbon Daily Photo

There is beauty in the Port of Lisbon: the pool of the cruise ship THOMSON DREAM - th ship was berthed at the Santa Apolónia Passenger Ship Terminal - and old Alfama.

Photograph taken on 23 October 2010 on the ship's maiden call in Lisbon under the present name. Santa Apolónia was the departure terminal for the old Empresa Nacional de Navegação and their passenger and mail services to Portuguese Africa. The Empresa Nacional and CNN  - Companhia Nacional de Navegação, which replaced the original concern in 1918 always had their private terminal at Santa Apolónia - Cais da Fundição, until the end in 1985 when Nacional was liquidated and the terminal was taken by Portline.
Piscina e solário do navio de cruzeiros THOMSON DREAM atracado a Santa Apolónia a 23 de Outubro de 2010 durante a escala inaugural do navio com este nome: uma perspectiva invejável para olhar Alfama mesmo ali ao lado, numa interacção navio-porto-cidade que muda sempre que os navios entram e largam dos velhos cais de Lisboa.
