Former Royal Viking sisters in Lisbon

Two former Royal Viking Line sister ships, the BOUDICCA ex-ROYAL VIKING SKY and the ALBATROS ex-ROYAL VIKING SEA called in Lisbon on 6 October 2014 and sailed together allowing me to obtain some "family portraits"...

Dois antigos gémeos construídos em 1973 em Helsínquia para a Royal Viking Line, o BOUDICCA ex-ROYAL VIKING SKY e o ALBATROS ex-ROYAL VIKING SEA fizeram escalas simultâneas em Lisboa a 6 de Outubro de 2014 e largaram ao final da tarde com apenas alguns minutos de intervalo possibilitando estas fotografias de conjunto, sempre interessantes quando juntam navios iguais.

ALBATROS leaving Lisbon

The German-operated cruise ship ALBATROS leaving Lisbon on 29 September 2010, and passing by the QUEEN MARY 2 on one of the photos...

She is the second ALBATROS in the fleet of Phoenix Reisen and was built in Finland in 1972 for Royal Viking Line as ROYAL VIKING SEA.

Terminal de Passageiros de Bremerhaven

Aspectos do porto e terminal de passageiros de Bremerhaven, um dos mais importantes da Alemanha. Repare-se que são permitidas despedidas a partir das varandas do terminal, pois cada porto faz a sua própria leitura das normas internacionais de segurança ditadas pelos EUA após Setembro de 2001.

É uma pena que nos portos portugueses não se sinta maior abertura para este tipo de interacção. Afastam-se as pessoas dos navios, e da vida portuária e depois queixam-se de a sociedade não ter abertura para as questões ligadas ao mar...

Christmas Cruises in Lisbon

Lisbon main cruise terminals had a busy day with the calls of ALBATROS, AMADEA and BLACK WATCH on their Christmas cruises. AMADEA had a Christmas tree on the mast, keeping with an old tradition. Also in port were the Classic International Cruises FUNCHAL and PRINCESS DANAE, undergoing refiting work.
