Liverpool's Cunard Building

Liverpool was in a festive mood for the 175th anniversary of Cunard Line, and the rendez vous of the three Cunarders on 24 to 26 May. The old Cunard Building has reopened as the Aquitania Restaurante for the period and we paid a visit with some of the resulting photographs shared here. Photos by Luís Migel Correia taken at Liverpool on 23 May 2015.

Maritime Liverpool

Maritime Liverpool at its very best: the traditional Liverpool shipping landmarks living on, the Royal Liver Building, a great Cunarder alongside the Landig Stage (QM2 on 24 May 2015), the presence of a Steam Packet ferry and the Mersey Ferries dazzle painted local ferry SNOWDROP. Crowds attend all shipping movements and at this fabulous city port, even dogs seem to be deeply interested in shipping matters.

Cunard birthday party in Liverpool

The Cunard Line started her shipping activities in 1840 with the RMS BRITANNIA sailing from Liverpool for Boston on 4th July, and that old associaton to the Mersey city has just been renewed by a magnificent gala event performed by Cunard's three ships fleet in the port of Liverpool on 24, 25 and 26 May, with the three ships in port and more than one million persons attending the ships arrival. On the photo, the Cunard present flagship docking at the famous landing stage in Liverpool early on 24 May. Check here for some of our photos taken on the Mersey on 25 May 2015
