CRUISING THE WORLD: HORTA, Fayal Island

The Fayal and Pico islands in the Azores are just a piece of paradise one should not miss. And there is no better way to arrive at the Azores than by sea on a ship. The Atlantic ocean is at its best there and then there is the Pico vulcano always present and this surrounded by 360 degrees of beauty. 

On one of my many visits I recorded a great moment and light shared in the two photographs, taken on 26 September 2006, the first at the commercial dock entrance, the second at nearby Porto Pim looking East.

CRUISING THE WORLD: PUERTO CHACABUCO

Com um dia tórrido em Lisboa, nada como recordar esta viagem aos fiordes do Chile, à Patagónia, ao Cabo Horn, às Malvinas, Argentina e Uruguay a bordo de um grande navio com todo o conforto (para os passageiros), o paquete GOLDEN PRINCESS.

Fotografias feitas a 20 de Janeiro de 2015 à chegada a Puerto Chacabuco, com uma paisagem magnífica e os Andes sempre a espreitarem na linha do horizonte.

On a very hot day in Lisbon it feels good to remember a fantastic trip to the Chilean Fjords, Patagonia, Cape Horn, the Falklands, Uruguay and Argentina on board the Princess Cruises GOLDEN PRINCESS.

LMC & Companhia na Patagónia

Saudades do Verão e falta de pachorra aqui para os assuntos da "Piolheira" levaram-me a mudar de ares este Inverno e a navegar pelos Mares do Sul, que incluíram a Patagónia, onde até há muitos patos de que gosto e muito mais para ver e apreciar. Aqui ficam algumas imagens da chegada e desembarque a Puerto Madryn com a minha excelente companheira de viagem, porque mais importante do que escolher bem o navio e o itinerário, há que saber escolher a companhia. Obrigado Ana, foi uma viagem excelente cheia de bons momentos partilhados com a minha "irmã do meio"...

Worldwide Cruising

Cruising all around the world on ships since 1958, I have been lucky to enjoy so many different places and oceans over the years. Here some photographs taken in the South Atlantic, cruising from Cape Horn to Port Stanley, F.I., on 25 January 2015. Not too much people on the outside decks, most of my fellow passengers did prefer the joys of Casino activity all day long, and then there were lots of sales with great souvenirs and lots of activities on the public rooms, etc... It was cold outside, but what a beatiful sea down there as seen from the decks of GOLDEN PRINCESS.

COSTA PACIFICA in Buenos Aires

The fourth cruise ship in port at Buenos Aires on 31 January 2015 was the COSTA PACIFICA, making me wish the EUGENIO C was there instead, but we can not manage time that way. It is amazing the way they can handle the present day giant passenger ships into the Buenos Aires docks.
