AIDAVITA on the Tagus

The AIDAVITA arriving in Lisbon for another cruise call on 15 August 2012, photographed underway on the river Tagus about to sail under the 25 April suspension bridge in order to sail upriver and berth at Santa Apolónia Cruise Terminal on the site of the old Companhia Nacional de Navegação terminal, then known as cais da Fundição.

AIDAVITA in Lisbon

What a strange world we have now with stupid globalization that gives an Italian flag and registration to a very German passenger and cruise ship: the AIDAVITA is a German cruise product from bow to stern: she was built in Germany, looks German and caters very successfully for the growing German cruise market. Only the flag is Italian, a link to the Carnival Group and their European arm: Costa Cruises.
Well, she was in Lisbon on 19 July 2011 with ARTANIA and I was able to photograph some interesting details that make ships such fantastic creatures and architectural case studies...
