O navio de cruzeiros COSTA LUMINOSA no Tejo

O navio de cruzeiros italiano COSTA LUMINOSA voltou ao Tejo a 5 e 6 de Abril de 2022, onde o fotografei mais uma vez, com o ambiente enevoado e cinzento à chegada, com o melhor sol de Lisboa, por ocasião da partida, a que correspondem as duas imagens publicadas. 

Este COSTA LUMINOSA esteve em Lisboa pela primeira vez, por ocasião do cruzeiro inaugural, a 10 de Junho de 2009, tendo então atracado à Estação Marítima de Alcântara, a qual, infelizmente, hoje já não recebe navios, nem passageiros, nem cruzeiros, penhorada por uma parede variável de contentores a esconderem e tornarem menos útil e visível um do mais belos edifícios da beira-tejo.

Sem ser uma beleza estonteante, o COSTA LUMINOSA é um navio atraente, pela simplicidade das formas despretensiosas e simples, pelo pedigree da Companhia Costa desde os tempos recuados da Linea C, com que a Costa começou a operar navios de passageiros, logo a seguir à Segunda Guerra mundial. 

Quando comecei a apreciar os navios de passageiros no Tejo, na década de 1960, a presença da frota de paquetes da Costa era frequente e variada, a começar pelo EUGENIO C de 1966, navio-almirante verdadeiramente espetacular, e que passava a vida por cá, nas suas viagens entre o Mediterrâneo e os Brasis, ou nos grandes cruzeiros de verão, habituais em Agosto. Havia ainda o FEDERICO C, que fazia a carreira da Venezuela, e outros navios menores, mas igualmente interessantes, como o ENRICO C, o ANNA C, o ANDREA C ou o FRANCA C. E volta e meia, também passavam por cá alguns cargueiros da Line C.

Italian cruise ship COSTA LUMINOSA was photographed in Malaga on 6 November 2011. She sailed just ahead of us bound for Cadis and Lisbon and was soon followed by Pullmantur's EMPRESS...

Cruise ships in Lisbon 31 October 2011

Lisbon cruise ship pictorial on 31 October 2011 with COSTA LUMINOSA, EMPRESS and BALMORAL berthed at the new Lisbon Cruise Terminal at Jardim do Tabaco and Santa Apolonia, the FUNCHAL being refitted at the Matinha Pier and the ADVENTURE OF THE SEAS at Alcantara on her maiden call in Lisbon. 

About 7000 passengers and 3000 crew members visited Lisbon onboard the four ships...

New Costa cruise ships

June 27 will be a historic day for Fincantieri when two Costa ships are floated out simultaneously: Costa Luminosa at the Marghera yard and Costa Pacifica at Sestri Ponente.

Costa Luminosa is due for delivery at the end of April 2009, with Costa Pacifica following a month later. The arrival of the two ships will boost the Costa fleet to 14 with total passenger capacity of approximately 36,000.

The 92,700gt Costa Luminosa, a new design for the brand, will carry up to 2,828 passengers. A sister to Costa Concordia and Costa Serena, the 114,500gt Costa Pacifica will accommodate up to 3,780 passengers. Image: the COSTA EUROPA cruising off Lisbon
