TAGUS SHIPPING SCENE

Lisbon shipping photos taken on 2nd June 2006: the passenger ships QUEEN ELIZABETH 2, INSIGNIA and EUROPA, the box ships AÇÔR B and AGLAIA and the cement carrier ATLANTIS

Lisbon is a very beautiful city, with its magnificent light, the river Tagus, and its ships. At this time of the year, late Spring, the evening light is better than ever and simply allows for great photos. And for me photographing ships in Lisbon has been a pleasure rediscovered everyday over the last 35 years. Like yesterday.
I enjoyed to photographs the QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 from Junqueira while she left the Alcântara cruise terminal, and then escorted the ship downriver up to the Tagus bar. Then I stayed there waiting for more inbound and outbound ships. The QE2, was followed by the cruise ships INSIGNIA and EUROPA, the boxships AÇÔR B and AGLAIA and the Portuguese cement carrier ATLANTIS.
