The cruise ship DISCOVERY sailing from Lisbon on 2007-09-16. A fine example of ships from the first generation of modern purpose-built cruise ships built between 1965 and 1977, the DISCOVERY was built in Germany in 1971 to Norwegian account as the ISLAND VENTURE.She later became Princess Cruises ISLAND PRINCESS and following a short stint in the Far East, was refitted in Turkey and renamed DISCOVERY. Her sister PACIFIC ex-PACIFIC PRINCESS ex- SEA VENTURE is operated by Pullmantur Cruises in the Mediterranean.
