In the sixties and seventies, when most of the P&O passenger fleet was more and more deployed on cruises, it was frequent to have two P&O liners together in Lisbon. It could be ORIANA berthed in Alcântara and IBERIA at Rocha, or a P&O with a B.I. ship. The tradition still goes on, but in theses days it should be called Carnival Day...
The P&O cruise ship OCEANA ex OCEAN PRINCESS and the brand new Princess Cruises EMERALD PRINCESS called in Lisbon this past 17th October, both in the same day. Princess ships no longer fly the red, yellow, blue and white P&O house flag, but they are still parts of the same family.
