Chegada do paquete FUNCHAL a Santa Cruz de Tenerife em Janeiro de 1962, ao fazer a primeira escala naquele porto das Canárias.O FUNCHAL era então o melhor, maior e mais moderno navio de passageiros a fazer a linha Península Ibérica - Canárias, que manteve até 1972.
