OCEAN NOVA in Lisbon

The small expedition cruise ship OCEAN NOVA arrived in Lisbon on 9 April for the first time on a positioning voyage from Ushuaia for Liverpool. She has no passengers on board and leaves port today at 6 PM.
A very small passenger ship, the same size of our former Portuguese PONTA DELGADA, she was built in 1992 for coastal service in Greenland. As built under the name SAPPIK ITTUK, she was even smaller with 1.128 gross tons and 49,7 meters length overall. In 2000 she was lengthened  by a further 23 meters in Poland and now she is 2.183 GT with a full length overall of 72,8 meters.
She was converted for cruising in 2006 and sold to International Shipping Partners (Miami) - Nova Cruises Ltd., Nassau - and in 2007 was renamed OCEAN NOVA.
