The French Line S.S. FLANDRE of 1952 was the first passenger liner built for the North Atlantic service of Cie Générale Transatlantique (French Line). Although intended for the Central America service like her sister ANTILLES, she was used on the New York run from July 1952 up to November 1962. Liner voyages were complemented by cruises and in this photograph she is obviously in cruising mode.
