Italian Line first post-war large passenger liner, the GIULIO CESARE is seen her photographed by Horário Novais underway outbound from Lisbon in the mid nineteen sixties.
With her sister ship AUGUSTUS, GIULIO CESARE operated mostly on the Mediterranean-Brazil-Plata service with regular calls in Lisbon, where italian ships were very popular.
Built in Monfalcone, Trieste in 1949, the GIULIO CESARE was withdrawn from service and screpped at La Spezia in 1973. She was replaced by CRISTOFORO COLOMBO on the South America service, until she was also withdrawn and sold off.
