Remembering the QUEEN MARY

Continuing Bill Miller's 50 years of ship travel & taking photos of it all, this view of the Queen Mary dates from February 2004 & a meeting with John Malone in 2011 aboard the Queen Mary 2. Here's a recollection of that grand ship that was her predeccessor:
"My granddad survived the sinking of the Lusitania [in May 1915]. His name was Bernard Malone. We still have a life ring from Lusitania at our home in England," John Malone told me. John himself was a steward onboard Cunard in the 1960s --- aboard the Queen Mary as well as the Queen Elizabeth, Caronia, Carmania & Franconia. "The Queen Mary was always my personal favorite --- she had something special, maybe just a little added grandeur and even personality."
