The Italian liner ILLIRIA of 1962 is one of the more remarkable small passenger ships of the sixties. Built in Italy and introduced in 1962 by the Finmare Group Adriatica Line of Venice, this mini liner operated between Italy and Greece until 1975 when she was sold to Greek interests.
She became a cruise ship without change of name and was sold in 1994 to operate in Indonesia as the BALI SEA DANCER.
Four years later she was sold again, to cruise in the Galapagos islands as the GALAPAGOS DISCOVERER, but she was destroyed by fire on 29 October 1999 while being refited at Balboa, Panama.
The brochure cover was issued by Adriatica in 1974, while the b&w photos were taken in Lisbon in the nineteen eighties.
