ZUIDERDAM IN LISBON

The Holland America cruise ship ZUIDERDAM made her inaugural call in the Port of Lisbon on 26 March 2008 while on a positioning voyage to Europe. A ceremony to exchange plaques took place onboard with representatives from the Port Authority, Port Agent and the Customs and the Captain and officers of the ZUIDERDAM.
The ZUIDERDAM is the first of a quartet of sisters built in Italy for Holland America and delivered between 2002 and 2006. Two other sisters, the OOSTERDAM and WESTERDAM did already visit Lisbon in the past and the NOORDAM is scheduled to pay her inaugural call in the Tagus in April 2008. The ZUIDERDAM is a moder ship with 81,768 GT, and a maximum pax capacity for 1,968 passengers. She was delivered to Holland America in 2002 and form the Compass-class with her three other sisters. Two near sister ships were completed to other Carnival Group companies, the ARCADIA, delivered to P&O in 2005 and the QUEEN VICTORIA introduced to Cunard in December 2007.
