The Azores Ports are hosting a training seminar entitled ‘The Cruise Industry of Today and Tomorrow’ on June 19 in Ponta Delgada.
‘The focus of the event is for ports and cruise lines to share information, experiences and thoughts, and brainstorm new ideas towards a continuous improvement of the cruise product,’ said Carlos Adalberto Silva, president of Azores Ports. Ponta Delgada is putting the finishing touches on a new cruise terminal which will officially open this summer.
Joining the panel discussions are Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.'s John Tercek, Princess Cruises’ Bruce Krumrine, Carnival UK’s Philip Naylor, Fred. Olsen’s Tim Mooore and MSC’s Luigi Pastena, as well as MedCruise president Laurent Monsaingeon and svp Albert Poggio.
Topics for discussion include the EU and cruise tourism, MedCruise’s contribution to the formulation of EU policies, preserving the Mediterranean’s diverse culture as the industry grows and opportunities for Portugal and its Atlantic isles to expand cruise tourism.
