OCEAN DREAM finished on 18 March her Brazilian cruises and sailed to Panamá where the Maltese registry was replaced by the flag of Panama. Class was also transferred to Germanischer Lloyd and the ship is now under the management of Maritime Holdings Group.
OCEAN DREAM is being bareboat chartered for ten years to Japanese interests. She will no cross the Pacific on a positioning voyage to be delivered on 25 April at Hakata, Japan.
OCEAN DREAM was built in Denmark in 1980-1982 for Carnival Cruise Lines as TROPICALE. She was Carnivale's fourth ship and their first newbuilding. In 2000 she was transferred to Costa Cruises who replaced the original funnel by a Costa style-funnel and in 2005 she became PACIFIC STAR operating out of Australia until sold in 2007 to Pullmantur.
OCEAN DREAM replaces the classic THE OCEANIC in Peace Boat service. The famous former Home Lines flagship is now doing her final voyage and will most likely be sold to to broken up.
