Primeira chegada do SANTA MARIA

Paquete português SANTA MARIA entrando em Lisboa pela primeira vez, a 25 de Outubro de 1953, escoltado por uma autentica flotilha de rebocadores, dos quais se destacam o FOZ DO LIMA, o PRAIA DA ADRAGA, o MONSANTO e o MUTELA, vendo-se à distância, o AVEIRO.

Pela popa do SANTA MARIA vinha ainda o seu irmão gémeo VERA CRUZ que o foi esperar a São José de Ribamar. Uma fotografia histórica com quase 60 anos.

Portuguese passenger liner SANTA MARIA arriving Lisbon for the first time, on 25 October 1953, escorted by a fleet of local tugs including FOZ DO LIMA, PRAIA DA ADRAGA, MONSANTO, MUTELA, and AVEIRO at the stern.

Behind SANTA MARIA there was also the sister ship VERA CRUZ which went to the Tagus bar to welcome the new liner. An historic photograph taken almost 60 years ago.
